Honing Brushes - Flex-Hone®
Composed of a multitude of little abrasive spheres mounted on flexible wires to ameliorate the surface condition of:cylinders and boreshydraulic and pneumatic screwsglazing of cylindersbrake cylindersbarrels of firearmsblind boresAlso for slightly oval bores or slightly conical cylinders.Obtained roughness values:grit C 60 = 100 up to 125 micro-inches C.L.A. grit C 120 = 40 up to 50 micro-inches C.L.A. grit C 180 = 30 up to 40 micro-inches C.L.A. grit C 400 = 15 up to 25 micro-inches C.L.A. grit A0 800 = 8 up to 12 micro-inches C.L.A. grains C 800 = 8 à 12 micro-inches C.L.AThe treated material, the initial state of the surface, the rotation speed and the used lubrication can alter these values which are sheer indicative.Use: - Never hone dry. Use our honing oil W03, in drops on the honing tool, or under constant sprinkle if your machine is adapted with a lubrication circuit. - Recommended rotation speeds : ø 4,5 up to ø 25 mm : ± 1200 RPM. ø 26 up to ø 51 mm : ± 800 RPM. ø 52 up tp ø 83 mm : ± 600 RPM. ø 84 up to ø 152 mm : ± 350 RPM. ø 153 up to ø 254 mm : ± 200 RPM. Introduce the brush into the pieceDuring honing, give the brush a reciprocative movement. Wash the pieces abundantly after honing. For information:The exterior diameter of a honing brush L 10, measured «in free air», will always be superior to the be honed ø. This is logical, because to assure a regular honing on the 360° of the interior bore, the honing brush must be slightly superior to the to be worked on Ø. Without deforming risks, a brush can remove up to 0,02 mm. Not more.
